Why has the POSIFORLID^® eye mask turned completely solid after use?

Crystals form immediately when you activate the mask. These crystals remain soft for some time, but as they cool down they gradually solidify. After it has cooled down completely, the mask is fairly solid. After boiling, this solid mass liquefies again.
