Simple and effective heat treatment
for blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction.

One of the main problems with eyelid margin inflammation (blepharitis) is the solidification of the secretion of the sebaceous glands (meibomian glands) located in the eyelid margin. This can lead to the formation of crusts on the margin of the eyelid and eyelashes. The heat treatment softens the crusts on the margin of the eyelid and the secretion of the meibomian glands. This makes it easier to remove the crusts and the secretion can simply be wiped out during the subsequent eyelid massage. It is therefore extremely important to maintain or improve the function of the meibomian glands.

However, heat treatment is only successful if a warm and humid climate is maintained at a constant temperature of around 45 °C for 5 – 10 minutes. The POSIFORLID^® eye mask is a self-heating eye mask that fulfils these requirements in a special way and can be reused approximately 90 times.

The constant, moist heat of the mask

• softens the crusts on the margin of the eyelid,
• improves the blood supply to the eyelids and
• softens the secretion of the meibomian glands.

This means that the secretion can be better wiped out of the sebaceous glands when massaging the eyelids. The POSIFORLID^® eye mask is extremely well suited for the treatment of

• inflammation of the eyelid margins,
• dysfunction of the eyelid glands,
• styes and chalazions as well as
• dry, tired or burning eyes.

The heat treatment should be applied twice a day. When used regularly, the POSIFORLID^® eye mask provides quick and lasting relief while you relax. The POSIFORLID^® eye mask will also be available as a double pack from August.

After use, the POSIFORLID^® eye mask must be boiled in a pot of boiling water to liquefy the milky, cloudy contents and prepare the eye mask for reactivation.
